Not very many foods are like that though, most will deteriorate after long periods of time.

In reality, comercially, you aren't really allowed to keep food up FOREVER, so in which case it'd be false, which would include the example mentioned by @sherixn.

Yep! Some places aren't legally allowed to keep food past the expired food date, but the food is totally fine and not worth being thrown away. These companies will donate the "expired" food to places like food pantries because there's nothing wrong with the food
