If the organisms at the bottom of the food chain die off, what happens to the carrying capacity of the organisms in the middle of the food chain? What happens to the ecosystem’s overall biodiversity

If the organisms at the bottom of the food chain die off, there will be less food for the organisms that feed off of those bottom-of-the-chain organisms. With less food, the middle-of-the-chain organisms would not be able to support as large a population, meaning their carrying capacity decreases When organisms in an ecosystem die out, there are fewer different types of organisms within that ecosystem; so, biodiversity also decreases
