A personal narrative by me

Victorya:

The boiling temper tantrum Always be grateful for what you do have, because you can't always get what you want in this world. On April 13, 2015, I was turning 7 on this day. It was a very sunny day outside. “ How was your day today,” My mom asked in a soft voice “ My day is going great today, how about you mom?” I replied “My day is going well. Happy birthday sweetheart!” she said. I just couldn’t wait for my Hello Kitty themed birthday party. Soon after that we arrived home, pulling up into the gray, cracked concrete driveway. I felt that something wasn’t right, a voice telling me to be careful, my heart pounding with joy and excitement, but worried something bad might happen, all at the same time. I tried pushing the bad feeling to the back of my head, like someone would do to a school subject that they hate, and don't mind forgetting about it. I walked into my apartment, my heart beating faster with every step I took. I finally reached the door. My mom began unlocking the door. My heart begins pounding out of my chest, my palms sweating up. Then that bad feeling comes back, poking me like a kid with a stick trying to sword fight you, but I keep pushing it away. The door opened slowly, with a slow and loud creak, then a crack. I began walking in the door as slowly as I could, shuffling my feet like I was a baby just now learning how to walk. When I walked in I noticed that it was a Batman themed party and not Hello Kitty, my eyes beginning to fill with tears, my body shaking, my fist balling up, my face redder than an apple, my stomach twisting up into knots that make me ache so bad the pain become anger, I felt like a volcano before it erupts. This is when I began my temper tantrum. I flopped my body to the ground like I just belly flopped into a pool, I started kicking my feet, swinging my arms around like i'm swimming aggressively against a current, tears roll down my cheeks wet and warm but yet take no form, my scream sounded like a hot kettle of tea on a hot stove. My neighbor Bri and her friend heard all the banging, screaming, and crying, then they called the cops because they thought something else was going on. “Police, Open the door,” The officer said. “Just a sec,” My mom said, with her arms feeling like a herd of elephants that are as, her legs wobbling like freshly cooked spaghetti noodles as if she had done something wrong that could get her in trouble. “What's the problem here,” The officer said. My mom in a shrieky voice replied “Nothing officer, we were just having fun with my daughter on her birthday.” The officer looked at the way I was crying, like I had just broken all the bones in my body. The officer began walking slowly but strongly towards me, his footsteps sounding like a row of bombs heading right towards me, He slowly kneeled down on one knee in front of me. “Is everything okay,” the officer asked “ No!!” I screamed out at the officer “ Well, what’s wrong,” the officer asked. I told the officer what happened. The officer took one good look around the area, then looked back at me. The officer began laughing, he sounded like a dying pig that smokes a pack of cigarettes a day. “Have a nice day,” The officer said while exiting the house. My mom told me that it was all just a joke, then she showed me the real decorations. My eyes start sparkling like an anime character, and my face lights up with joy, and we put up the hello kitty decorations. A few moments later, Bri and her friend came and knocked on the door and apologized for just going to the cops and not talking to us first. My mom understood what was going on in Bri's head when she did it. We invited Bri and her friend in for cake. They all sang happy birthday to me and I blew out the candles and made my wish. I feel bad about this moment because it was just a joke. I wish i was thankful for what i got even though it wasn't what i wanted.
