Question: Is the war in Ukraine more similar to blitzkrieg in WW2, or is it more similar to WW2 as a war of attrition?

SmokeyBrown:

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm not very familiar with the war in Ukraine or the strategies being used there. The question is a pretty straightforward comparison between two very different military tactics: Blitzkrieg (literally, "lightning war") places an emphasis on very quickly overwhelming the enemy with large amounts of force over a short period of time; a war of attrition is the opposite strategy, focused on stalling out the enemy until they run out of resources, energy, or will to fight Based on what you know about the war in Ukraine, which would you say describes the situation more accurately?
