dude:

|dw:1652211407856:dw| First think about it as two sides, left and right Left is \(-\infty\) and right is \(\infty\) For the left side, is the arrow going up or down? For the right side, is the arrow going up or down?

Joe348:

It is going up, so positive?

Right side

Joe348:

Arrow is going down on the left side, so negative?

dude:

Yes. The right side is going up and the left side is going down Left side is \(-\infty\) and (down) would also be \(-\infty\) Right side is \(\infty\) and (up) is \(\infty\) Turning that into a math statement would look like As \(x\rightarrow-\infty,~f(x)\rightarrow -\infty\) As \(x\rightarrow\infty,~f(x)\rightarrow \infty\)

Joe348:

Okay thank you so much dude
