The problem here is a bit similar to the earlier question about averages.

It seems that the code is supposed to add the numbers x, y, and z in different combinations. But in line 1 "def add_numbers(y, y, z):" we see that the numbers used aren't x, y, and z; instead we have y, y again, and z

Yes so the first argument in the function add_numbers should be the letter x.
