What is latex even for anyways? And why are people so obsessed with it?

\(\LaTeX\) is like BBCode but you can do a bit more. Ppl love it because it works a bit better then BBCode and you can do shapes, example: \(\color{red}{\bigstar}\)

It’s simply a different way of expressing oneself on here, visually. It’s a bit complex, but a very fascinating method of design text for others.
