$$\sqrt{11x+5}=7$$  
Subtract 5 from both sides
$$11x+5 =7^2=49$$ 
Divide both sides by 11
$$11x=44$$ 
Substitute x=4 into the left side of the equation and if equal to then it is the solution.
$$x=4$$
$$ \sqrt{11(4+5}=\sqrt{44+5}=\sqrt{49}=7 $$ equals right side

Now that we've solved it all out, we can conclude that x=4 is the solution and that the solution is not extraneous.
