My teachers taught me an easy way of rounding up decimals. for that specific decimal, you'd use the 4 behind the decimal to round up to the nearest number. 5 or more raise the score, 4 or less let it rest, which means that the depending number of that specific place whether the decimal stays 17 or becomes 18
