When the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs hit the Earth, it sprayed dust and debris into the air, blocking the Sun for many, many years. Most dinosaurs weren’t killed by the impact but died later as a result of the Earth not receiving enough sunlight. Using your knowledge of photosynthesis and cellular respiration, explain why the dinosaurs died out even though many weren’t directly affected by the impact.
