So we have points (0,0) and (1,-0.5) a+b=-0.5 then, 1+b=-0.5 which equals to 0. So the equations becomes f(x)=\[x^{3}\] - 1=-1.5 At x we now have x=0.6 f(0.6)=3 x(0.6)\[^{2}\] -3 x(0.6) The rate of change is x=0.6 and -7.2 Hope this helps!
