Well, I don't think it's either A, B, or D, since that is just cutting either a whole area down, removing them all which isn't good for trees or us, or burning it all down.
But C describes that when you cut down the trees, (Specific trees) it will not bother the other trees or their growth.
So I do belive you are correct.
