Just wanted to share a recreation of Blinding Lights I made in like 30ish mins. I really like The Weeknd's style.
The most difficult part was probably getting the synths to sound right. I think if I spent a little longer on it I could've gotten it to sound more like the original, but alas
i like itttt
Sounds guuud : )
i don't think you should change anything it sounds rlly good
Okay, I just spent like 10 minutes mixing it and this is the final mix :)
that's rlly good
dang I didn't know u produced music bs :p
oh mysterious
Lol, I bet. I enjoyed the mix. Lmk if you have a soundcloud/spotify or something, ill follow :P
Ableton Live was the most intimidating thing I had ever seen when I launched it for the first time.
im blinding by the lightzzz
ooo there good i like there music
Definitely sounds like you're digging it. What genre are you going for?
Probably pop/synthpop. I like 80s music, so that's why I like The Weeknd.
ooo thats good
Makes sense, that's hype tho :p
Literally the most confusing thing to look at when you've never used Ableton Live before
Nothing a few hundred tutorials can't solve
i love it
Did you downloaded any Plug-ins for the sound effects?
I used a plug-in to help with mixing, but that's it
Have you tried FL studio?
I've only used GarageBand, Logic Pro and Ableton Live. I tried FL Studio like 4 or 5 years ago though, and I also have FL Studio Mobile
Bet, imma try them. Overall, good sounds. Keep doing good work!
Thanks! And if anyone has Ableton Live and they'd like to take a look at the project file and look at how I made the instruments and stuff, just ask!
I used 2 analog synths, 2 wavetable synths and a drum rack with a linn kick, analog snare and obv a very high reverb clap
Bro the reverb from the end is sick i tried to do that in premiere pro but yours is completely better
The clap reverb?
That's the settings for the reverb. I also have a little bit of delay added through Send B, but it's probably not as noticable as the reverb
That reverb is just for the claps
Imma download that program, maybe u could teach me sum, seems fun
Do you have a Mac or Windows PC?
If you have a Mac, you'd probably want to start with Logic Pro
Ableton Live is just hella confusing, and I'm still learning how to properly use it
Windows
What kind of music do you make?
I have never done this, i wanna try doing.
OH
Well, FL Studio or Cubase might be a great place to start
You could technically start with Ableton Live, but it's probably easier to convert from those DAWs to Ableton Live than actually starting with it. Ableton Live is really really confusing for beginners
FL Studio is great for hip hop, rap and trap, but some pop artists also use it. Cubase is usually for pop and synth. The Weeknd uses it for his recent albums.
Ableton Live is just more of an industry-standard pop DAW, and it's also used for rock, house, EDM and stuff as well
Alright, imma install that.
They're all used for producing music though
You've also got Pro Tools as well. I think Charlie Puth and Nicki Minaj use it
I've never tried it though, so I can't say how complicated it is
I'm a beginner so imma start with FL
Okay, great choice
Learning from the best ofc.
