brooklyn2022:

Evaluate the expression. – 7+ – 0.4÷( – 0.7– – 0.9) Write your answer as an integer or a decimal. Do not round.

ShadowOfDeath:

What is the equation itself?

brooklyn2022:

– 7+ – 0.4÷( – 0.7– – 0.9)

brooklyn2022:

-7+-0.4 divided by -0.7--0.9

ShadowOfDeath:

Ohhh. Okay, that makes more sense. So the equation we have is\[-7+0.44/-0.7+0.9\]

ShadowOfDeath:

First, we do the top side of the equation This will be -7+0.4 which would be -6.6 because the -7 has a bigger value than 0.4. Now we have the equation of -6.6/-0.7+0.9. The solution of this would be 0.2 because -0.7+0.9 could also be written as 0.9-0.7. Now we have -6.6/0.2 which if I did that correctly, should be -33. So the answer to this is -33.

ShadowOfDeath:

Correction. The full answer is -32.9. I rounded up.

bbftyftydghvc:

its -0.9

ShadowOfDeath:

Huh, weird. Thanks for that.
