People migrated to the west in search of gold , land and mining oppritunities also because of the good transportation which was the railroad.Though the challendges some faced was wilderness life threats , heavy luggage so they had to dump some off the road, the heat as well as lack of resources sometimes . Not only that it took a long time to get from one destination to another , lack of food , oxogen thurst etc.
