At a summer camp, one large tub of mayonnaise is used for each lunch service. The function below represents the amount of mayonnaise, in tablespoons, left in the tub after N students are served lunch. M(N) = 4000 - 4N What is the domain of M(N)?
well what they are talking about is domain (x ) and rang ( y ) i wont give u the answer but ill help u through it ok
ok so i figured it out the domain is ( 0,1,2.. 100 ) and this is because these are the x cordinates on the number line
now for the range, I believe it is ( 4 , 8 , .. ) and that is because they coordinate i belive is being multiplied by 2 because I think this problem is rather Discreet than continuous. So i might be wrong but that is what I would put. also, I see this is alg 1 u in because im taking alg 1 and geometry at the same time.
though im not a good teacher my alg 1 and geometry techer is a youtuber so whatch his vid. ittl help u .. - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUO609FHvfOFRFaAmJdsajg
M(N) = 4000 - 4N Because M(N) represents volume, M(N) cannot be less than 0. Because N represents tablespoons, N cannot be less than 0. The domain therefore starts at 0. To figure out the maximum value for the domain, we need to figure out when the tub will run out of mayo. That occurs when the volume = 0. Therefore, set M(N) = 4000 - 4N equal to 0 and calculate N. (It will not be 100).
