Moved to English Interesting question. One example that pops into my mind is the conflict between marrying for social status or wealth vs. marrying for love, which is still a common topic in marriages today. The Capulets want Juliet to marry Paris partly for his noble status, which Juliet will benefit from in marriage. Juliet wants to marry Romeo out of love/personal choice, which is a more modern attitude towards marriage.
