JaceBrooks223:

what do you need help with exactly

SwaggyMark:

joe has 4 apples and his mom gave him 12 apples, he now has 64 apples

SwaggyMark:

next you minus the 12 from 64 and get 52 and then u fraction it by 4 and get 13

SwaggyMark:

which means joeys mom had 13 times 4 apples and x = 13

so how do i Write a short word problem about a purchase made to illustrate the equation?

SwaggyMark:

joe pays for a taxi , for every hour they drive he pays 4 dollars and there is a one time fee of 12 dollars

SwaggyMark:

how many hours he drove if he payed 64 dollars

Kenin:

soo?

Sailor:

Personally, going off of Mark's idea with the apples, I'd do something like: Joe buys 4 apples from the store every day. His mother gave him 12 when he got home. Later on, Joe counts his apples and finds that he has 64 apples in total. How many days did Joe go to the grocery store?

Kenin:

so it would be something like 4x + 12 = 64?

SwaggyMark:

yessriski

Sailor:

Yeah, thats the original equation. The word problem basically goes off of the equation lol

Sailor:

Then you would solve the equation like the directions say
