What do you learn about Aaron Burr based on the article? Why would Aaron Burr be considered a hero over Alexander Hamilton? Why do you think this was not included in the play?

Read through it and start thinking about some of the things that were mentioned in the article but not the play. For example, the article mentions that Burr fought for the rights of less privileged people, like slaves, women, and non-wealthy, non-landowners.

As for why the play doesn’t mention these, there’s many factors, but I’d say that the play is ultimately about Hamilton’s journey and is meant to get the audience to understand and sympathize with Hamilton, not Burr.
