Question

I don't usually post, but I thought I might share one of my creative writing bits. I wrote this while thinking about my current girlfriend. (In comments)

The wind had started to pick up as the day stretched on and grew into evening. We had been there for hours, trying to see and do as much as we could. The amount of laughter and fun seemed endless. I knew we wouldn’t get to experience everything there, and she knew it too.
“Race you back to the entrance!” she cried, and instantly took off running.
I laughed and followed her, the wind causing my hair to fly everywhere and in my face. I wasn’t the most athletic person in the world, so I lagged behind her quite a bit. When I did eventually spot her again, standing at the entrance all out-of-breath, I slowed to a little walk. She hadn’t noticed me yet, but oh, how easy it was and is to notice her. Her silky hair was whirling around with the wind, the bleached blonde color a compliment to her green-brown eyes. And suddenly I stopped walking for a moment and took the sight of her in. And it had somehow never occurred to me, never been brought to my attention, just how much I cared about her. Just how lucky, how thankful I was to have her in my life. How much I needed her. How much I adored every bit of nuance to her. Just how much I loved her.
She saw that I was there and smiled warmly. My heart soared. Once I took my place by her side, we began to walk out of the theme park.
“You know, it’s too bad we couldn’t see everything,” she exclaimed.
“It’s okay,” I smiled and reached for her hand, “The only “everything” I need is right next to me.”
As our fingers laced together, she glanced at me.
“That’s so corny, man,” she replied, giggling.
“Good thing we stan corn.”
