Just a key for linear functions vs exponential functions. Linear Functions AND Exponential Functions: - both tend to be straight lines Linear Functions: - have a repeated value (usually this is \(\sf{\color{tomato}y}\)) Exponential Functions: - rely on the \(\sf{\color{tomato}x}\) value to get the \(\sf{\color{tomato}y}\) value => e.g. if \(\sf{\color{tomato}x}\) is \(\sf{\color{tomato}4}\) and the exponent rate value is \(\sf{\color{tomato}2}\), the \(\sf{\color{tomato}y}\) value would be \(\sf{\color{tomato}{16}}\) (because \(\sf{\color{tomato}{4\times4}}\) is \(\sf{\color{tomato}{16}}\))

I should say exponential functions usually rely on the x value.
