In med class: What is the main way to take Vital signs?
my nana was a nurse before the order is respiration, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature and if required, blood pressure. but the main way is Using the first and second fingertips, press firmly but gently on the arteries until you feel a pulse.
Vitals can be Checked many ways But Many docotors use Diffent ways But like arieonna said thoese are some of the ways
Here are the numerous ways of checking vital signs: Manual Way (1/2): Put your pointer finger and middle finger down on either the main artery in their neck or on a blood vessel/vain in on the wrist. Get a timer and set it for 60 seconds. Count each pulse (blood pulse from the heart rate) until those 60 seconds are up. (2/2) Instead of counting to 60 seconds, count to 15 and multiply by 4. Manual way will help count the beats per minute, but only the heart rate as far as I know. Cuff: Put a mobile cuff around their upper arm, below the shoulder; Make sure no clothing is underneath the cuff, that their feet are on the ground, and that they're sitting upright with their knees at a straight angle (90 degrees, straight but sitting) and that their arms are outwards as seen in most anatomical diagrams (thumbs outward, hands relaxed); make sure the Cuff's cord is aligned with their pinky finger to properly calculate their heart pressure, heart rate, and BPM. I'm sure there are other ways of doing this, I just see these two as the most viable/easy/quickest ways of doing so. Good luck out there, doc!!
