It says that the new line is parallel to y = -4x + 7 so the new slope must be the same as the original (-4) It crosses (3, -2) so you can plug this in as your x, y value in y = mx + b, along with the slope m, and solve for the y intercept b.

Yes that’s correct Nitpick in your work: you’re using point slope form, so it should be y - (-2) not (y(-2)). It doesn’t change your answer but it makes your work more accurate and easier to follow.
