Arieonna:

Analyze the example scenario of an interdisciplinary health care team. Jake, Emily, Taylor, and Rob are all new members of a health care team at the local health clinic. Jake checks in with a patient waiting in an examination room. He spends a few minutes talking to her about her new medication and some of its possible side effects. He then leaves to find the physician. While Jake is gone, Emily steps into the room. She does not know that Jake has already seen this patient. After greeting the patient, Emily begins talking to her about the new medication the patient will be taking. The patient interrupts Emily, saying that someone else already told her what she needed to know. Embarrassed, Emily apologizes and excuses herself from the room. Emily runs into Jake in the hallway and sternly reminds him that she was supposed to see that patient today, not him. Jake argues that he was covering all the patients in that examination room today. Meanwhile, Taylor and Rob are treating another patient down the hall. Rob, who is a physician, asks Taylor to give the patient an immunization shot. As Taylor begins to administer the shot, Rob shouts at him to stop and says that Taylor was about to give the shot the wrong way. Rob grabs the syringe out of Taylors hand and administers the shot himself while muttering under his breath about incompetent nurses. Neither Rob nor Taylor notices the patient’s anxious expression. 1. Describe the conflict between Jake and Emily. What do you think caused this conflict? Consider the skills that are important for interdisciplinary teams in your response. (2 points)

thatgirlcrazy:

well what is the problem they are having

Arieonna:

they were arguing

thatgirlcrazy:

what were they arguing about

Arieonna:

um i think someone already talk to the pationt about their medication without a doctor knowing

thatgirlcrazy:

so Emily start's talking to a patient letting them know what medicine they will be taking what she does'nt know is that jake had already seen that patient so when to patient interupts emily and tell's her she goes into the hallway and find's jake she remind's him that she was supposed to see that patient and he argued that he was supposed to see all the patient's in the examination room that day . so the conflict between jake and emily is that the were fighting because jake did the job emily was supposed to do and jake said that it was his job
