What is shading and what’s the best way to do it
Ok so basically shading adds depth to any art piece (not including acrylic paint/oil painting/printmaking), and gives any object a 3D look to it. Personally, I'd recommend hatching and cross-hatching. It's a really popular method of shading. What you'd do is: 1) Draw diagonal lines where you want the shading to be. Remember that you need to have in mind where the source of light is coming from. 2) Draw diagonal lines in the opposite direction. As you do the first two steps, keep in mind that the amount of space in between the lines will indefinitely affect how your shading looks. I decided to waste my time to draw something out to try and make the process clearer for you, hopefully it helps you out! With the diagonal lines, do try to draw them lightly so when the final product is done the lines won't be noticeable. Also, when you draw objects, there are cast shadows (I think that's what they're called). Cast shadows are basically well.. shadows. To draw these, you can definitely do the same method and still get the same results. They can be on a wall, table, etc. And finally, when you shade you can blend out the pencil so it looks more realistic. You can use blending stumps, your finger, or even a paper towel to blend out the pencil. Once again, hope this helps! :) (My drawing isn't the best example, if I had more time I'd do better for sure)
Damn thanks that helped a lot thanks for the tip
What about blending any tips on that
