It is asking to add f(x) + g(x). Notice in part A, you have two groups of parentheses being added together. Simply place the tiles for f(x) (4x and 8) inside the first parentheses. Using the same logic, for the second parentheses, place the tiles for g(x). Add the two functions together by combining like terms. Then place the appropriate tiles after the equals sign. For part B, it is asking for the value of (f+g) at x = 3. Simply plug in x = 3 into the function you calculated from part A.
