how do i shade hair? heres what i drew

Dark it from top the skip a spot on top of the head the the rest dark

First maybe start wit outline of the hair,then like draw triangular layered pieces of hair and if your using yourself as reference to drawing maybe take pic of yourself with good light source that with be good angle for shading light to dark, using value nd applying just enough pressure to pencil or whatever :)

Yes I know how to draw hair, but the problem is shading I don't know where the darker piece should be
