Heterogeneous is a mixture made up of elements or ingredients that are not alike. So, a mixture of two or more pure substances that are not combined chemically and their substances retain their original chemical properties. If you want a example of heterogenous sand is one. Sand is an example of a heterogenous mixture because "Sand is made up of particles of silicon dioxide as the main part (in different sizes) The properties, composition, and appearance of sand are not the same throughout the mixture. Moreover, there are minor fractions of other components and compounds in the sand. It is not composed of one element or one compound." https://homework.study.com/explanation/is-sand-a-pure-substance-or-a-mixture-explain.html#:~:text=Answer%20and%20Explanation%3A&text=Sand%20is%20made%20up%20of,the%20same%20throughout%20the%20mixture . And if you still are confused on what heterogenous is or need more examples, here is another link for you :) https://www.dictionary.com/browse/heterogeneous
