You tried but you gotta be more specific when coming to answering these types of questions, people who are asking need DIRECT points in the right direction, or DIRECT answer not "Self Government." Just letting you know when coming to help someone else.

CheeseFritter:

Still, your answer wasn't direct if your gonna catch a attitude instead of getting over the fact i just pointed you in the correct path but you're taking it personal so i'm just going to leave this here and not respond to someone who is wasting my time by arguing.

early forms of democratic government in colonial America. The Mayflower Compact was signed by the Pilgrims in 1620 and established a self-governing colony in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The House of Burgesses was established in Virginia in 1619 and was the first representative assembly in colonial America. New England town meetings were established in the 17th century and allowed citizens to participate in local government decisions through open discussion and voting. These early forms of democratic government helped shape the political culture of colonial America and laid the foundation for the development of democracy in the United States.

i understand that theyre early forms of democracy, but theyre all instances of self goverment. england practiced salutary neglect therefore the colonies had to GOVERN themSELF

KyledaGreat:

@CheeseFritter You are correct that the early forms of democratic government in colonial America were largely instances of self-government, as the colonies were often left to govern themselves due to England's policy of salutary neglect. The Mayflower Compact, House of Burgesses, and New England town meetings were all examples of how the colonists organized their own systems of government and representation. These early forms of democracy allowed the colonists to have a say in how they were governed and helped establish the principles of self-government that would later become a core value of American democracy.
