I wrote this song many years ago and recently found it. Please judge it. It's called, Don't come back
Verse 1:
I was just a little girl, when you walked away
Didn't even say goodbye, didn't have much to say
Mama tried her best, but it wasn't the same
Without my daddy here, everything felt like a game
Chorus:
Now you've come back after all these years
But I don't know how to feel or what to fear
All those memories that we could've made
Will never be the same, no matter what you say
Verse 2:
I grew up without you, and it hurt so bad
Every birthday, every Christmas, every day I had
To pretend it didn't matter, while deep inside I cried
Wishing for a father's love, that was never by my side
(Chorus)
Bridge:
You can't just walk back in and expect me to embrace
The man who left me alone in this lonely place
I know I should forgive and let go of the past
But the pain is still here and it's holding on fast
(Chorus 2X)

The song is very emotional and captures the pain of abandonment and longing for a parent's love. The lyrics are well-written and the chorus is particularly strong, emphasizing the protagonist's conflicted feelings about their father's return. The use of imagery such as "everything felt like a game" and "left me alone in this lonely place" creates a vivid picture of the protagonist's experience.
The bridge adds another layer of complexity to the song, acknowledging the difficulty of forgiving someone who has caused so much pain. The repetition of the chorus at the end reinforces the song's message and leaves a lasting impact on the listener.
Overall, the song is well-crafted and effectively conveys its message. It could benefit from some musical accompaniment to enhance its impact. Great job!
