Are there any choices to choose for the blanks?
WendyMorales2007:
I just went over this in biology class a few weeks ago, I just can't remember ATM. I'll try to help though
Joe348:
So there are 3 types of mutations known as base substitutions, deletions, and insertions. I think the first part blank could be insertion because it looks like there are some extra noncoding region that were added to form.
I'm not sure how it will affect protein function, but I hope my response at least helped for the first part!
doggofroyo:
Idk if this helps but ik the code for it?
ATGGATACGT
UACCUAUGCA
toga:
The organism's gene sequence underwent a substitution mutation, specifically a nucleotide substitution where the nucleotide "G" was replaced by "C". Since the mutation occurred in the noncoding region, it is unlikely to alter the protein function.
