What kind of power does Albus Dum.bledore have in the Harry Potter Series? (Legitimate, reward, coercive, referent, or expert power?) Is it a combination? Define the power(s) you chose and explain why this leader has these power(s).
Based on my quick research of these terms, and some cursory knowledge of the HP books - Legitimate - I'd say yes, as somebody appointed to an official position of power (Headmaster) and has specific powers associated with this position (off the top of my head, he can appoint other professors). We also see in the books that he temporarily gets set to Azkaban and in that time loses the influence associated with that position. Reward - I'd also say yes. The Hogwarts House cup system is an example of this. He specifically rewards Harry, Ron, and Hermione for their bravery by giving extra points to Gryffindor. Coercive - Probably not. I can't find any examples of him using punishment or otherwise forcing people to obey him. Referent - Also yes. Dumbledore is very well respected in the books and that leads people to want to listen to him. Hagrid comes to mind; Hagrid greatly respects Dumbledore's wizarding skill and kindness and goes out of his way to defend him when others aren't. Expert - Dumbledore is one of the greatest wizards of all time, even Voldemort is afraid of him. Honestly, you could make a case for any of them. I'd argue that it's a combination of all except coercive.
