For part A, just add and combine all like terms for the 3. So: \[ (3x^2 -2) +(x^2) +(2xy+5) \] Then just subtract whatever you get from above from the original equation provided.

Luigi0210:

\[(6x^2 -2xy+8) -(4x^2 + 2xy+3) \]

So, the simplified expression after subtracting the result is: -x^2 - 2xy - 5. ?

ANoob:

Hmm not quite

This is what you should be subtracting

Sharkattack123:

2x^2 - 4xy + 5.

Sharkattack123:

?

ANoob:

Yes, that should be it. Unless I suck at math now.

highly doubt

Sharkattack123:

how about part b..

Sharkattack123:

@anoob

ANoob:

The one you solved was part B Part A was just adding the three equations into one

Guess I don't remember how to combine like terms apparently. But since they gave you the answer for part A, just subtract that from \[6x^2-2xy+8\]
