I'm going to try and write poems because I am bored and have nothing better to do to fill my time! I don't have quite enough time to start one right now, but does anyone have advice? I'll start soon! Thank you<33

go with ur heart on what u wanna write abt and do some rhymes. do wht u wanna write abt from the heart and have it make sense to u. but i wish u the best of luck for these poems!!

Well, it depends on what kind of genre you do for your poem. Anything emotional goes with your heart, but anything mental or physical comes up with it from your mind. It may be a little confusing but all types of poems can be different in all sorts of ways. And they don't just have to be love or sad poems. For example, you could make a poem about betrayal or anger or it's from a person's perspective and they tell a scene in the poem. It is really all up to what you want to write. Come up with the message first, and lead through that message step-by-step in a poetic way. You can use real life scenarios or fantastical ones to make the analogy clear, but using analogies is almost a given when it comes to writing poems, so get used to it

Honestly, figure out what type of genre the poem is, then start brainstorming from there. I feel like once you got a feel of the genre the rest of the poem should come to you pretty easily, ( Maybe I don't know )

All I will say, is listen to your heart and emotions while writing. If you have random thoughts, jot them down. One day they will mean something.
