State of depression

Depression…It’s something that we all may go through at one point but those of us that are dealing with it now? What do we do-?

People say that they will never leave you and that you are never alone but that's exactly how we feel when we are depressed: alone.
And everyone who you would have thought would notice just doesn’t.
Falling out of the things you love and do best and just not doing anything at all…

Saying you are fine constantly but are you?-
No, most likely, you're not.
But can they understand…?
WILL they understand?

Can’t you see how I'm hurting the smile that I put on my face is so fake but do you understand?

We cut too because we don't know anyone to turn to ...but sometimes we just need to feel something-

Can you understand my pain my numbness my unfeeling?
Can you understand…

Personally, yesh, I do understand. I wonder if this counts as a freestyle poem? It follows no pattern or rhyme scheme or anything, so idk about it being a poem as much as it ish just some creative writing piece.
And about ze cutting part, if ur trying to generalize and speak to ppl who hav depression, I feel like it would've been a lot better to just say "We turn to self harm," or, better yet, "We turn to negative coping mechanisms" since rn ish conveying dat every1 w/ depression cuts, when das not tru yk ?
