lovemelee:

In melting only one substance is involved and the liquid and solid are the same material. does that make sense

lovemelee:

Heat is needed for melting to occur. Dissolving involves two materials. the resulting solution is a mixture of both

Nightmoon:

Yes these both do make sense.

lovemelee:

happy to help lol

OLIVER69:

Melting would be "A phase change" Dissolving would be "Needs two substances" and "Requires a change in kinetic energy" This link may help you https://www.education.vic.gov.au/school/teachers/teachingresources/discipline/science/continuum/Pages/meltdissolve.aspx
