ElexusQuimby:

Which of the following lines has a slope of -1/3 and a y-intercept of 6? x + 3y = 18 3y - x = 18 x - 3y = 6

OLIVER69:

It would be x + 3y = 18

ElexusQuimby:

can you explain it to me please?

OLIVER69:

Well to know the slop of the equation you would want it to be positive because it's flipped when you find the slope which is -1/3 and as for the y-intercept you would want to make it have it equal by 18 so when you divide by 3, you will get the 6 as your y-intercept. (Makes sense.)

ElexusQuimby:

thank you so much

OLIVER69:

you're welcome
