I just wrote this.

The daughter sits and cries alone

Her mother's words, so harsh and cold

A heart that's broken, a spirit that's lost

All because mom chose to belittle her most

The girl wishes she could go back in time

When her self-esteem was still sublime

But her mother's words were like daggers to her heart

And now she's been broken apart

The daughter is scared, and so ashamed

She's living with a hurt that won't be tamed

Her mother's words have struck her down low

And this girl feels she can't ever grow

The mother should be loving and kind

But instead she's unkind and unhinged in her mind

She belittles her daughter, and it's not right

She should see her daughter as a shining light

The daughter is strong, and she will get through

She'll become more resilient and strong as time ensues

Her mother's words will forever hold her down

As she lowers, lowers, and lowers, she will not be found
