Chapter two of my book :
"The missing Sarah"

It was a dark and stormy night when Sarah decided to take a shortcut through the woods to get home. She had heard rumors about a haunted house in the area, but she didn't believe in ghosts, so she wasn't worried.

As she approached the house, she felt a shiver run down her spine. The place looked abandoned and creepy, with broken windows and overgrown weeds. But Sarah brushed it off, telling herself that it was just her imagination playing tricks on her.

As she stepped inside, the musty smell hit her, and she felt a sudden chill in the air. The floorboards creaked under her feet, and she heard strange noises coming from the shadows. She tried to shake off the feeling of unease, but it only grew stronger with each passing moment.

Suddenly, she heard a loud noise coming from upstairs, and she froze. She could feel her heart racing as she slowly made her way up the stairs, one step at a time. The closer she got to the top, the louder the noise became, until it was almost unbearable.

When she finally reached the top, she saw a figure standing in the hallway. It was a ghostly apparition, with glowing eyes and a sinister grin. Sarah tried to run, but her feet wouldn't move. She was trapped, with nowhere to go.

The ghostly figure approached her, and Sarah could feel its cold breath on her face. She closed her eyes, waiting for the worst to happen. But when she opened them again, the ghost was gone.

Sarah fled the house, never looking back. She never spoke of what she saw that night, but she never forgot it either. And every time she passed by the haunted house, she felt a shiver run down her spine.
