The maximum is where the most profit could made. While also having the lowest production cost.

Would the (X - intercepts be:- t= 4 & -1/4
3 years ago
Luigi0210:
No, the x-intercepts are where the graph hits 0 on the x-plane. So it would be x=0, ~6

Its mx+b

Clown:
Thats not hard
Luigi0210:
Yes, and the vertex would just be -b/2a. so
\[\large t= \frac{-60}{2(-16)} \]
Simplified
\[\large t=\frac{15}{8} \]

Sharkattack123:
ight
Luigi0210:
and the line of symmetry would just be using the vertex as an equation sooo
f(t) = (15/8)t

I think you can draw the graph from here?

Sharkattack123:
The vertex and symmetry is the same?
Sharkattack123:
I thought it was ( 15 / 8 , 289 / 4 )
Luigi0210:
The vertex is a point, and the line of symmetry just uses the same x-coordinate.
So same x I meant

For the first, the maximum represents the "most profit is made"
The x-intercepts represent where "no profit" would be made
The rate of change is basically the slope from x=3 to x=6
3 years ago
Luigi0210:
And domain is related to the x-values, since you can't go to infinity with it,
\[\large 0 \le x \le 6 \]
Since x can be at the very least 0, and at most 6 before it starts heading off into negative territory
