"truth hurts"

The sting of truth can cut so deep,
Like a blade that makes us weep.
Yet hiding it can be a lie,
That leaves us wondering why.

Is it worth the hurt it brings,
To keep the truth from taking wings?
Or should we brave the pain,
And let honesty rule the game?

Perhaps it's better to face the truth,
Than to live in a world of sleuth.
For though it may cause some pain,
It brings freedom like a refreshing rain.

So let us choose to speak the truth,
Even when it's hard to do.
For in the end, it's better to know,
Than to live a life of falsehood and woe.

"Or should we brave the pain, And let honesty rule the game?" Something about this line truly has a very powerful message, which I love. I love the whole poem though. You own it sis and I'm glad to see there is something you are passionate about in writing poems. Love ya < 3
