Another poem because I couldn't resist

“Spotlight”

I’ve never been one for attention
Never the one to make a fuss
Always sits alone, helping others
But please don’t shine a light on me
I’m perfectly fine in my corner

It’s a dark and cold world
So many other people deserve the light
Not I
For I am too nervous
For I do not like the attention

Hide your light away from me
I do not want nor deserve it
Please carry on, leaving me alone
I’m not worthy of your light
You must keep yourself lit not me

Guide yourself out of the darkness into the light
I will forever be behind you in the dark
Just don’t forget about me
For I am yours.
