Just plug in the given values for a and b, since hypotenuse is represented as c. \[\Large a^2 + b^2 = c^2 \] a= 2x^2 + y^2 b= 2xy \[\large (2x^2+y^2)^2+ (2xy)^2 = c^2 \] Square, and then take the square root

can u help me wit mine

Luigi0210:

You can treat the (2x^2+y^2)^2 as just two \[\large (2x^2+y^2)(2x^2+y^2) = 4x^4+2x^2y^2+2x^2y^2+y^4\] Combine like terms \[\large 4x^4+4x^2y^2+y^4\] Then just do \[\large (2xy)^2 = 4x^2y^2\] Add the two together
