I believe this answer would be D "European industrialists needed access to raw materials to use in their factories." Reasoning behind my answer- In Europe industrialization pushed the growth of population, which means there was a speed production increase, So Europe needed more raw materials and in order to achieve that they decided to explore other countries for more.
