Tbone:

Okay so I'm doing math for fun and I need help

Tbone:

Tbone:

Now I'm following the rules of pemdas

Tbone:

I start inside the parentheses, 2+2 is 4. So now the equation turns to 8/2(4) Then I go to exponents, there are none so I go to multiplication. 2*4 is 8. Then I devide 8/8 and that gives me 1

Tbone:

@ferny

Tbone:

@supie

Tbone:

Where the hell did 14 and 16 come from?

Tbone:

@extrinix

chuckthedonut:

I thought it was 16....

Tbone:

HOW DID YOU GET THAT?!?!M

chuckthedonut:

|dw:1685131681703:dw|

chuckthedonut:

I know it's a horrible drawing lol-

ShoaibChaudhry:

Wth?

ShoaibChaudhry:

Bro SO like basicly

chuckthedonut:

So it should be 16..not 14..

ShoaibChaudhry:

U would do 2+2

ShoaibChaudhry:

Then 8/2

supie:

you have to do what’s in the parenthesis first

ShoaibChaudhry:

With is 4

ShoaibChaudhry:

And then 4 times 4 T^T its 16

Tbone:

But iu follow pemdas, parentheses exponents multiplication division addition subtraction

ShoaibChaudhry:

Wel u see

ShoaibChaudhry:

when that happens

ShoaibChaudhry:

U do wat ever comes first multiply or divide

ShoaibChaudhry:

Thats the rule T^T

chuckthedonut:

Tbone:

You follow pemdas with everything, such as x(3+8) * 97=

ShoaibChaudhry:

Bro ur tripping tio

chuckthedonut:

@chuckthedonut wrote:
It clearly says 16, Idk how 14 is the answer.

Laylalyssa:

The fact that the answer is 12 and you guys are arguing over 16 and 14 💀

Tbone:

THE ANSWER IS 1 BRO

Tbone:

BRO PEMDAS

Laylalyssa:

Take a break , you need it

chuckthedonut:

I'm so confused right now...

Tbone:

Stop putting it ina calculator c ts simple math 😭😭

Luigi0210:

Honestly it just depends on which *rules* you follow. It's 1 if you use PEMDAS

Laylalyssa:

If it’s so simple then why did you make a question

Tbone:

Bc how tf did y'all get 16 and 14

Tbone:

I'm using common sense what black ,agic F ery did y'all use

supie:

how did you get 1

supie:

im lost

supie:

oh I get it

chuckthedonut:

@supie wrote:
oh I get it
Howww ?? I'm soo confused bro

supie:

they multiply 2 times 2

supie:

2 times 4 i mean

supie:

then divide it by 8 which is 1

Luigi0210:

\[\Large 8 \div 2(2+2) \] \[\Large 8 \div 2(4) \] \[\Large 8\div 8\]

chuckthedonut:

Ohhhhh

chuckthedonut:

So which answer is it then-?

supie:

let me ask an elementary school teacher

Luigi0210:

It just depends on which method you learned I guess.
