Kind of feeling an overwhelming sense of sadness/depression today so I wrote a poem

"In The Darkness, I Drown"

In the darkness, I drown, Beneath the waves of sorrow profound.
All alone with my aching heart, That bleeds for what has been torn apart.
Memories of laughter and glee, Now buried deep inside of me. Long gone are the days of bliss, Replaced with pain that I can't dismiss.
The tears that flow, they never cease, My soul cries out for some release. But in this void, nothing can fill The emptiness that consumes me still.
The world goes on, without a care, While I am trapped in my despair.
I try to rise up, but fall again, Lost in a sea of endless pain. In the darkness, I drown, Yearning for a way to be found. But for now, I'll keep holding on, And pray that someday, the light will dawn.

I can understand why you would feel that way. It can get exhausting trying to filter out the people who are genuinely interested from those who just want something from you.

it's always a good idea to keep an open mind and not completely shut out everyone who is new to you. You never know, you might end up making some great connections that way
