Yes i 100% agree cause i have a 80.6% for my math and all i been wanting latly is to raise my grade to like 87% or higher so i can get close to a A

Vixen:

I don't think that grades should be abolished because then that would make our generation even more dumb 😭

Luigi0210:

I mean grades aren't *completely* useless lol They do serve some purpose in measuring people's understanding and capacity. You wouldn't want the doctor who got an F in medical school but an A in arts or something operating on you, now would you?

K1NGofPadlet:

Oh God, how humanity is falling apart...

K1NGofPadlet:

I completely disagree with the notion that school grades should be abolished simply because they can cause stress and make students feel like failures. While it is veridical that grades can be a source of solicitousness or disappointment for some individuals, they adscititiously accommodate a valuable purport in availing to assess student progress and identify areas that need amendment. Furthermore, grades can be potent motivators to embolden students to insert effort and strive for excellence. Without the quantification of grades, it might be arduous to identify top performers or provide opportunities for apperception and further challenges. Supplementally, grades can avail to standardize and evaluate across different schools and districts, ascertaining that students are receiving a consistent level of edification. Determinately, it is consequential to agnize that grades are not the only measure of prosperity or character in life. While achieving good grades can be paramount in opening doors to future opportunities, there are many other valuable skills and experiences that can contribute to a person's overall magnification and prosperity. Grades should be optically discerned as one aspect of a well-rounded inculcation, rather than the sole determinant of a student's worth or potential.

True grades could cause stress but we need it to be able to determine if are willing to graduate, if people just got a participation award there would be no prize to win, although trust me grades are a very annoying thing to have it is still needed to make sure people are successful in life. If we didn't have grades people would be flying through school and if you went to college with no grades, how do we know people are smart enough to get certain jobs and not fumble, we need grades to be made sure they are in check. At least in my point of view.

Rylee88:

I think grades are very much so necessary. Without them, everyone passes, so if you get a zero on an assignment and you still pass you will learn NOTHING. It will make you not smart in the future. I mean come on, kids already don't know how to count change. I think we NEED grades to tell us if we pass or not. If you're stressed on them, maybe spend more time on your work than on your friends.

Echofire:

Think about this: 80% "correct" when performing surgery, building a house, designing power grids, filing taxes, cooking meat, or anything in the real world will bring about disastrous results. You will not get an 'at least you tried' award and you will feel beyond stressed. There is no reason for grades to be abolished.

BrokenMoon:

I don't think grades should be I think homework should be as well as testing. Some students struggle with sitting still long enough to take a test while many other suffer from various mental illnesses which prohibit them from testing well. Additionally many students have insanely high intelligence levels but are unable to communicate well. This causes them to fail testing as well. As far as homework goes, many studies have shown that homework causes stress and lower grades. Furthermore many teens have home life that is rather rough. They may not have access to a printer, internet, or simply the time to complete homework. At my school many people have jobs just so they can help their parents pay the bills. A real life example of a solution for this problem is my school. Assignments are given for students to complete at their own pace which promotes early graduation. Additionally there is no homework and the only testing given is state mandatory. Each assignment is graded by a teacher and students are able to redo them at anytime to receive a higher grade.

No, there is a thing called testing accommodation. Tests should never go away and same with homework. Why? You cannot learn much just by reading and taking notes, you need to do some work and have it checked. However the homework is best conducted depends on the teacher and where the school is. You get material to takes notes on and read about, practice and check your own abilities through homework, and get tested to see what you know and how well you can perform.

RodrigoGuevara:

You people are absolutely crazy. People need grades to determine your status in school. Take that away and 99.9% of kids won't even begin to give a crap about an education because there would be no consequences for failing. Failing teaches us our shortcomings, our weaknesses, and as a result, gives us ways to improve ourselves. Why do we fall? It's not so we can continue lying on the ground. It's so we can learn to pick ourselves back up.

Yes.

@astroboy look.

5starNique:

Personally i think grades should stay because with grades now they tell you what subjects you need help in and which subjects your good at and without grades you wouldn't be able to pass tests because you wouldn't know what subjects you need help with so if you take a test on that subject you would fail.

notmeta:

I don't think it should be abolished. the system just needs to change. grades help you strive for success. "but its stressful" that's how life is. Grades are preparing you for the future.

ykbatman:

because if they dont

ykbatman:

im not making it past hs

ihy:

I don't think it should be abolished because grades are the things that help us see our mistakes and what we need to work on. If we didn't have grades in our school system, it's either we're robots or we're high-school/college dropouts.
