Try looking at the graphs on here first and click the circle next to the functions to turn them on and off. Here is the link to the interactive graph. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/zyumxkzhmz

Echofire:

Once you see the graph of the functions, you will be able to determine the where it is increasing or decreasing AND whether it is on the positive or negative 'y' side of the graph. Now obviously you would have to draw it if you are doing this on paper only. Match the intervals below with the right function. Keep in mind that some of them go to infinity. Not only that, you can use algebra to find the intervals and determine which ones are increasing and decreasing. You may figure this one out halfway through. I am not sure which is harder, determining how to explain this or actually doing it. Whoever made this was either a madman or a genius, either way it is not a super practical way to learn this type of math. Hope this helps and give an update on your progress so we as a community can help! Let the answer to this riddle help guide you through life too. This goes for anyone reading this.
