If love can't be mine, whose will it be?
Wondering why I'm stuck in a tree
I'm looking up to the birds in allure
My god, they are something I adore
Birds are a symbol, of love and peace
So why can't I take place in this mighty feast?

. they are referring to one of his middle school relationships in the 6th grade, causing his heart to break just 2 weeks into the "dating"(she basically lied to him about liking him) part

Wondering why I'm stuck in a tree
I'm looking up to the birds in allure
My god, they are something I adore
. here they are talking about his love for bird watching and love for climbing trees in his backyard

Birds are a symbol of love and peace
. this time they are talking about the dove, not all birds because the dove is the symbol of love AND peace

So why can't I take place in this mighty feast
. so they are talking about why can't he find someone else who will love him like he would them, they actually didn't find anyone to date until 7th grade which is why they felt so alone during their 6th grade year
