In this assignment, you will be roleplaying as a citizen who is trying to get a certain bill passed by proposing it to their congressional representative.

What to include in your submission:

Step 1 (Letter to your Congress-person)- Address your Congressional Representative directly. Figure out who they are and write a small introduction to them. Tell them who you are and why you are reaching out. Bring up your bill and why you think it is important.

Step 2 (Letter to your Congress-person part 2) - Explain your Bill. Tell the representative what issue you want to address. After that, explain this new law you came up with and how it addresses that problem effectively.

Step 3 (How would this bill become a law?)- Tell me where it goes from there. In this final step, your discussion with your representative is over and I just want to know that you understand the exact path the bill would need to take from there to become a law. You can list the checkpoint, by checkpoint path; you can draw a diagram; you thoroughly explain it. In whichever way you feel comfortable, tell me where the bill would go from there in order to become a law.
